Chapter 1: The Secret Plot:

Another dumb, stupid, boring day. The dreadful blare of your annoying alarm clock woke you up from your somewhat peaceful sleep. You bashed your alarm clock on your nightstand for about the hundredth time, right before it blew your eardrums out, again. It was now 6:00 in the morning, and you were not happy. To make matters worse, you had only been asleep for five minutes. You had woken up at 5:30 and had been ‘day-dreaming’, that is, until your eyes had begun to droop and you fell back asleep. Then came your rude awakening.

After sitting up and cracking everything you knew how, you swung your legs sluggishly off of your bed, turned off your music, closed your door, and turned your lights and TV on. You had to close your door before you turned on your lights because you were the first person up in the morning, and those lights would surely wake up your light-sleeping family consisting of your mom, dad, your dog Rocky, and younger brother.

You were actually glad that no one else was awake at this time, you didn’t really want to deal with the others in the morning. Your parents annoyed you ad nauseum by treating you more like a child the older you grew up. Rocky was pretty cool, you loved animals, but he loved your mom more than anyone else in the family, so you didn’t get to give him attention too much. Your younger brother was, well, your younger brother, and like any other sibling, he annoyed you as well.

You looked at your room groggily and tried to wake yourself up, in vain. You picked out your outfit from your dresser: black baggy sweatpants, a (F/C) baggy comfortable t-shirt, and a black baggy soft-as-heck hoodie. Yes, you liked to wear baggy clothes that are super soft and comfortable. You can’t stand that tight, weird, not-your-style clothing other girls wore. You never understood how someone could walk around the whole day with skinny jeans on, and almost everything girly confused you, especially makeup. You’re more of a natural person.

After changing into your outfit, you went into the bathroom, brushed your (H/L), (H/C) hair and put it up. You hated your hair down. You didn’t leave your room or go to your kitchen since you never ate breakfast, unlike normal people, so you went back to your bed and read fan fiction with George Lopez on in the background until 6:50. You then turned off your TV, grabbed your backpack and winter coat, since it was winter, turned your light off, disarmed your house alarm system, and went out into the cool morning, nightly setting. Even though your bus didn’t come until 7:00, you still liked to be early.

It only took you three minutes to get to the bus stop, and it didn’t take long for the usual people to arrive after you. They, like every other morning, shivered and complained about the ‘cold’, which you found annoying because you don’t really ‘get cold’. When the bus finally arrived a few minutes later, you got on the bus, thankful you didn’t have to hear everyone’s complaining. Since you were one of the last stops in the morning, there were no empty seats, so you always sat with your friendly acquaintance and talked. Your bus eventually arrived to school at about 7:15, and you got off the bus and joined the crowd of students who had also just arrived and headed towards the school.

You walked through the front door and made your way to the orchestra room since orchestra was your first period. Once inside the orchestra room, you walked all the way to your instrument locker to where your precious viola lay. The viola, in your opinion, was the best instrument in the world to you, and you hated the violins with their high screechy E strings, popularity, high population, always taking the melodies away from the rest of the orchestra, and worst of all, the name calling insults. Calling your precious small viola section neck-cellos and the horrible and dreaded, third violins, was what the violinists did many times. There is a ‘war’ between violins and violas in your school, and it can get ugly, but everyone still gets along.

You reached your locker at the far end of the room, where there was only a few other lockers between you and an exit door that no one is supposed to use. The door had a window that showed the outdoors well, and you when looked out, you saw something you would not soon forget.

There appeared to be a… cat-boy, at least you thought it was a boy, with dark violet cat ears, longer blonde hair, and light green clothing of some sort, and you could’ve sworn he was looking at you. You could barely catch the details of the strange being because you turned around, thinking whoever or whatever it was, was a reflection and therefore behind you. Nothing. You whipped your head right back to the door, but he or it was gone. You had no idea what the hell just happened. Maybe you were hallucinating because you were tired, or maybe it was just your imagination. But your instincts said that there was something not right, and your instincts were never wrong.

You were still looking out the door, your eyesight locked on the mountains in the distance where you longed to explore, to escape, to get away from this forced human life. However, you were still paranoid from what you had just seen, so much so that you failed to realize your tall friend, Drew, sneaking up behind you. Suddenly, you felt him taser you hard in the sides, and it made you yelp and jump. You turned and glared at him.

        “DREW!!” You yelled.

“What?” he asked while laughing his guts out.

“I’M GETTING YOU BACK FOR THAT!!! THAT FREAKING HURT LIKE HELL!!!” You then proceeded to chase him around the whole room, smirking as you almost caught him once or twice. However, the cat-boy you thought you saw was still distracting your thoughts. Who, or what, the hell was that anyway? You thought, as you jabbed your fingers into the pressure point on his neck, causing him to scrunch his shoulders and rub his neck in pain. You had officially gotten your revenge, and still consumed by the vague image of the cat boy, you stared back at the exit door, as if awaiting for that same figure to just magically reappear. But of course, nothing of the sort happened. Drew came up behind you and was about to get you back for jabbing him in the neck, but noticed that something was distracting you. He looked to the door and expected something hilarious or interesting to be there, but there was nothing of the sort. It was just the usual scenery outside, and he started to grow concerned.

“(Y/N), what are you looking at?” He questioned. Should I tell him? …Why not. It was probably nothing anyways.

“I thought I saw something weird, before you so rudely tasered me that is, but it was probably just my imagination.”

“Anything your instincts are telling you?” He knew about your accurate instincts well.

“A little, but, like I said, it’s probably nothing.” He looked at you with a serious and a little concerned expression.

“Be careful.” Was all he whispered. You were a little surprised, but shrugged it off. He did care about you after all, and so would naturally worry about you.

“Yeah yeah, whatever. Just get your viola out, stand partner.” His face eased a bit as he rolled his eyes, smiled, and went to his locker to get his viola. I’m still getting strange vibes about that cat-boy thing. Hmmm… morning jitters? You know what, who cares? It’ll probably go away by the end of the day… hopefully. Still, something still seemed too strange-

A loud ring interrupted your thoughts and echoed throughout the orchestra room. Oh crap, the bell! I better get tuned! You ran back to your locker, which you had not even opened yet because of Drew and that strange incident, to get ready before the announcements came on.

Perfect, just according to plan. A short figure thought. They appeared from seemingly nowhere, and walked to a center room in a seemingly abandoned hallway. He stalked through the door with the grace and silence of a trained hunter. The room was cloaked in shadows, hiding most of a big man along with it. The bright glint on his white glasses and the tips of his white gloves interlocking their fingers stood out the most. A silhouette could be seen of him sitting in his chair, slightly chuckling. He already knew what this figure in front of him was about to tell him.

“The plans are in motion.” The short figure stated.

“Of course they are, warrant officer. You never fail to disappoint.” The man’s voice chuckled.

“She did see me though. Should I be concerned?” The figure devilishly smirked.

“It does not matter now. Let her be paranoid until she goes mad. I enjoy the madness from which people can generate. It pleases and excites me so. Besides, it is already too late for her now, nothing she can do will stop us.”

        “If you say so.”

“All that aside, it is now time to move to phase two. Go to your position and wait for further instructions.”

        “As you wish… Major.”
